Cahuenga Pass

Construction proceeded during 1939 to create one of Los Angeles’ first freeways. The roadways through the Cahuenga Pass were separated by Pacific Electric trolley tracks in the median. This scene is looking northwest. It is “out of the picture” toward Los Angeles in the 1939 construction photo shown below.
